A domestic worker can fulfil roles, such as: a gardener, driver or person who looks after children, the aged, sick, frail, or disabled in a private household, but farm workers are excluded from this definition.

• The present minimum wage reached equalisation with the national minimum wage which is R27.58 for each ordinary hour worked.
• Are your Domestic Workers registered for UIF and Workman’s Compensation?
• Do you have an employment contract with your employee/s.
• Do you provide your Domestic Workers/s with a payslip?
• Have you conducted background verification checks on you domestic workers?
